Wellbeing Coach Admin Assistant Volunteer

We are looking for residents who may be able to help with the work we are doing around supporting people who need Health and wellbeing services, we need someone with a great personality, a can-do attitude and positive approach to work with our Health and Wellbeing Coach (Aaron Davies) to run his office and perform all the administrative tasks as required.

  • This is an exciting opportunity to gain experience in the Administrative and personal assistant role.
  • You will be providing telephone support for residents who may need to book time with our Wellbeing Coach.
  • Complete an administrative role to support the Wellbeing Coach including running his calendar and appointment system.

Working under their supervision you will develop experience of the Wellbeing process – helping people to get the immediate support required and then referring them to get further internal support with other members of the GL team as needed or required.

  • Have good verbal and written communication skills.

  • Be willing to learn about and follow GL Communities aims, principles and policies, including confidentiality and data protection.
  • Have excellent IT skills. Knowledge of Word, Outlook, Office 365.
  • Be willing to undertake development within in your role.
  • A sound understanding of basic arithmetic, addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division.

Be willing to train up and gain the skills and knowledge necessary to perform the duties of the needs of the Wellbeing Coach and his role as lead of the building.

The confidence and willingness to support people who are sometimes in a distressed or confused state, being able to empathise with people and to help them understand their current situation or difficulties. This may include people with mental health issues.

A good working knowledge of the English language, both written and verbal and be able to converse in English at all levels. Be able to write in English, record and be able to provide simple instructions on budgeting and expenditure if needed. Be comfortable asking questions and importantly have an acute ability to listen to what is being said in answer to the questions raised.

Be available to cover hours regularly throughout the week 10 to 2pm Monday to Friday or as many days as possible.
