Join the vibrant and dynamic team at the Phoenix Centre as a Community Woodwork Volunteer! Our centre is dedicated to providing a welcoming and safe environment where community members from all walks of life can come together, share experiences, and learn new skills. We are currently seeking a generous and enthusiastic volunteer who is willing to contribute their time and talents to our woodworking activities. These activities include crafting raised flower beds for both the centre and the wider community, constructing bird boxes to enhance local wildlife habitats, and even working on personal woodworking projects that inspire creativity and skill development.
As a volunteer, you will be a key part of our mission to foster a sense of community and support sustainable practices through hands-on projects. While this position is unpaid, we offer substantial support in the form of comprehensive training and opportunities for personal development. You will be working alongside a team of like-minded individuals who are passionate about making a positive difference.
Whether you can dedicate a few hours a week or more, your contributions will have a significant and lasting impact on our community. - Ideally you have some woodwork/ carpentry experience.
- Great people and communication skills.
- Experience working with people with a variety of abilities.
- Ability to setup and lead activities as well as supporting staff.
